Phase 1: Foundation & Diagnostics (4-6 Weeks: Oct/Nov 2025)
Goal: Master all core Reading/Writing grammar and rhetoric rules. Pinpoint exact math weaknesses.
| Day | Time Commitment | Focus Area | Activity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon/Tues/Thurs | 15-30 min | RW: Grammar/Conventions | Watch a short lesson video (e.g., Khan Academy/prep course) on a single, frequently tested grammar rule (e.g., subject-verb agreement, pronoun-antecedent agreement, comma usage). Complete 5-7 practice questions on that specific rule. |
| Friday | 1 hour | Math: Equation/Geometry Drill | Work through 10-15 mixed-topic math problems focused on the types you struggled with (equations, geometry). Crucially: Review every mistake and find the underlying concept/formula you need to know. |
| Saturday | 3-4 hours | RW Deep Dive | 2-hour Timed Practice: Complete one full Digital SAT Reading & Writing module (27 questions). 2-hour Review: Spend the remaining time only reviewing your mistakes. Read the full explanation for every wrong answer, even if you feel you knew it. Log the error type (e.g., "Main Idea," "Transition Word," "Punctuation"). |
| Sunday | 3-4 hours | Math/Strategy | Math Content Review: Dedicate time to solidifying your weak math areas (equations and geometry). Work through a textbook or course section for mastery. SAT Strategy: Read articles/watch videos on high-score test-taking strategies (process of elimination, predicting the answer, pacing). |
Phase 2: Targeted Mastery & Volume (8-12 Weeks: Dec 2025 - Feb 2026)
Goal: Consistently score in the 700s on the RW section and achieve near-perfection in Math practice.
| Day | Time Commitment | Focus Area | Activity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon/Tues/Thurs | 15-30 min | RW: Vocabulary/Rhetoric | Vocabulary-in-Context Drill: Complete 5-7 questions focused on Words in Context and Text Structure/Purpose (rhetoric). Practice predicting the answer before looking at the choices. |
| Friday | 1 hour | Mixed Drills & Error Log | 30 min Math: Drill 10 hard questions from your error log. 30 min RW: Drill 10 hard questions from your error log. |
| Saturday | 3-4 hours | Full Practice Test Simulation | Take one full, official Digital SAT Practice Test using the Bluebook app (or other high-quality resource) under strict testing conditions. Do not grade it yet. |
| Sunday | 3-4 hours | Detailed Analysis | Grade the Test: Calculate your score. Analysis: Spend 3-4 hours dissecting the mistakes from Saturday's test. For every single missed question (and any correct ones you were unsure of): 1. Find the concept/rule tested. 2. Write down why your answer was wrong and why the correct answer is right. Update your Error Log. |
Phase 3: High-Score Refinement (8 Weeks: Mar - Apr 2026)
Goal: Reduce mistakes to less than 3 per section consistently. Focus on the most challenging question types.
| Day | Time Commitment | Focus Area | Activity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon/Tues/Thurs | 15-30 min | RW or Math: Hardest Concepts | Complete a mini-module of 8 questions focused only on the most difficult/rarely tested RW or Math concepts you've identified in your Error Log (e.g., Advanced Math function transformation, rare comma rules, logical inferences). |
| Friday | 1 hour | Pacing & Review | Pacing Drill: Complete 15 mixed-topic RW or Math questions, focusing on maintaining your target pace (approx. 70 seconds per question). Review any you missed. |
| Saturday | 3-4 hours | Practice Test & Review | Take a full Digital SAT Practice Test OR a single full Math Section (Module 1 & 2) AND a single full RW Section (Module 1 & 2) in separate sittings. Follow with a 1-hour detailed analysis of the results. |
| Sunday | 3-4 hours | Strategic Deep Dive | Targeted Practice: Work through 40-50 questions focused on a single weak area until you achieve 95%+ accuracy. Simulated Module 2: Practice only the hardest level 2 adaptive modules to ensure you can perform at the highest level of difficulty. |
Phase 4: Final Polish & Peak Performance (4 Weeks: May - June 5, 2026)
Goal: Maintain stamina, manage stress, and ensure the content is fresh.
| Day | Time Commitment | Focus Area | Activity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon/Tues/Thurs | 15-30 min | Flashcard & Formula Review | Review all your flashcards, error log notes, and Math formula sheets. Do not take a full practice test. |
| Friday | 1 hour | Final Hard Drill | Complete a set of 20 hand-picked, most difficult questions from your accumulated resources. Stop at one hour, regardless of completion. |
| Saturday (1-2 Weeks Out) | 3-4 hours | Final Full Practice | Take the last full, timed official Bluebook practice test. Treat this as the real test. Analyze results immediately. |
| Sunday (1 Week Out) | 2 hours | Final Review | Review only your most common mistake types. Focus on confidence and strategy, not learning new concepts. |
| The Day Before | 0 hours | Rest | NO STUDYING. Get your materials ready, eat a good dinner, and get a full night's sleep. Trust your preparation. |
Key Strategies for the 1580+ Goal
-
Prioritize Reading & Writing (RW): You need to make massive gains here. Your study time reflects this, with RW content spread across more days. High scores in this section require deep pattern recognition and rules mastery.
-
Focus on Rules: For the Writing part, memorize the 15-20 common grammar and rhetoric rules (punctuation, transitions, sentence structure, etc.). A perfect score requires near-perfect accuracy on these.
-
Context/Rhetoric: For the Reading part, practice identifying the main purpose of the text/phrase and the meaning in context before looking at the options.
-
-
Master the Math Concepts (Not Just the Questions): You are already strong, so your focus is accuracy and efficiency.
-
Equations & Geometry: Use a dedicated resource (like Khan Academy) to re-learn the foundations of your weak geometry theorems and advanced algebra/function equation types. A 1580 means you likely need a perfect or near-perfect Math score.
-
Error Log: Use the error log to track why you missed a question (e.g., "Careless error," "Didn't know the triangle theorem," "Algebra mistake"). This helps prevent the same type of mistake.
-
-
The Error Log is Non-Negotiable: A 1300 to 1580 leap comes not from doing a lot of problems, but from analyzing mistakes. Every hour spent on a full-length test should be followed by at least one to two hours of meticulous error review.
-
Use Official Resources: The College Board's Bluebook app for the Digital SAT is your primary practice test resource. Use all official practice tests. Supplement with Khan Academy's official SAT practice, which is aligned with College Board.
